Editor's review
This is a software utility that helps recognize character in ASCII format from images.
JPG to Word OCR Converter is a batch processor, available free for evaluation. This tool will convert scanned PDF files to editable Word or RTF documents. It could save you quite a bit of hassle by processing multiple files at a time. You can collect a whole lot of JPG images, scanned pages together and process them in a single execution of the tool. The interface is well laid out. Controls are easily accessible. The interface is simple and intuitive. Most users will be able to figure out how to use it in very quick time. You should try the detailed settings only after you have some sense of what to do. This tool can manage character recognition in some six languages including English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese. It works with Windows 2000 and later systems of both 32bit and 64bit.
Image to ASCII character success rate depends on lot many factors. The image quality needs to be good. Scan distortions like skew and rotation needs to be removed. Quite often conversion tool like this has an image editor built in to take care of such issues. This one does not have one such, could have been very useful. A noise remover such as a speckle remover would also have helped. This is a good product with useful features. If you were looking for a product like this, this could be a good candidate to try out.
